NYRx Education & Outreach MCO Newsletters

In recognition of March as Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month, the NYRx Education & Outreach team that supports New York State Department of Health has published and distributed three newsletters to all its Medicaid Managed Care Organizations that focus on bleeding disorders!  The first newsletter highlights that outpatient prescription drugs and clotting factors are included in NYRx, the Medicaid Pharmacy Program, and provides further information on Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) that are located throughout New York State. HTCs treat all types of bleeding disorders and provide comprehensive care to their patients. The second newsletter focuses on von Willebrand Disease (VWD) and provides information on available treatment options. The third & final newsletter focuses on prior authorization and patient access to medication when traveling.

The NYRx Education & Outreach team can support complex pharmacy cases, specifically for those impacted by bleeding disorders.  The NYSBDC very much appreciates their commitment to working with the bleeding disorders community to ensure they receive the medication needed to manage and control their bleeding disorder.   NYSBDC also extends its thanks to Denise Armstrong from the New York Blood Center for bringing this to fruition.  Thanks again NYRx Education & Outreach Team!
