accomplishments

The NYSBDC members successfully worked with legislators to add coverage of at-home clotting factor for children on the New York Child Heath Plus program.

NYSBDC collaborates with other patient advocacy organizations that work to protect the health care rights of all individuals and supports such issues as:

  • Bans Tier 4 co-pays for medication in New York.

  • Reform the practice of step therapy payment rules and create new protections for patients with specialized medical needs.

  • Ensure access to all factors within skilled nursing and rehab facilities.

On the federal level, NYSBDC works with the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) and Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) to Monitor healthcare issues that will affect the bleeding disorder residents in New York State.
